Media Specialist Assistant

Camp Lumi is seeking highly motivated students to join our team as the Media Specialist Assistant for the summer camp season from June 23 to August 15th, 2025.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist the Media Program Director with all Media programs and projects at camp.
Assist with the facilitation of the Media program for campers aged 4 to 14 years old. Examples of the Media programs for campers include short skits and dances in front of the green screen, pictionary, choose your own adventure videos, jeopardy, etc.
- Set up media equipment such as the green screen, lights, microphones, ipads, cameras, etc.
- Provide instructions for the media activities
- Help campers develop creative content in small groups
- Help manage the Media room (set up of chairs, supplies, equipment, keep the room tidy)
Create short videos of the activity sessions to be shown to the campers at camp and sent to families at the end of each week.
Assist with content creation for social media for the camp
Create short videos for the Camp’s social media account

Qualifications and Skills

Skills in video editing using Adobe Premiere Rush or equivalent program
Ability to provide clear instruction and provide guidance to children
Creative, motivated, and understands camp spirit

The location of the Summer Camp Lower Canada College (4090 Royal Avenue) in NDG.

To BA and Diploma students in the Department of Communication Studies: If you are considering a Summer internship, please know that under these exceptional circumstances you may work partly, or entirely, from home. This assumes, of course, that your onsite supervisor fully supports this arrangement. If you still have concerns or questions after you’ve read the Guidelines, please contact the Internships Co-ordinator.

May 2019: We are now allowing students to have the option of receiving compensation for their internships (more info above).

Sept 2018: Please note that all internships are considered complete as soon as students reach 120 hours. We ask that everyone respects this limit.

Sept 2016: Please note that, in order to maximize the value of the internships for everyone, we support a maximum of TWO student interns at any one company during any given semester.
