Social Media & Content Creation Intern – Wine/Food/Culture Project

A new YouTube channel and docu-series is in development, exploring wine’s place in today’s world — its culture, its challenges, and its resilience. We’re looking for a creative multitasker with a passion for storytelling, food, wine, and culture to help launch the project and build its digital presence from the ground up.

About the Project
This is a bold new media initiative blending wine, travel, food, and big ideas. The aim is to bring wine to a wider audience by combining strong storytelling with timely conversations about climate, culture, and change.

What You’ll Do

Help craft and execute the YouTube launch strategy
Set up and manage supporting social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok)
Create short-form content (YT Shorts, IG & TikTok reels) from long-form videos
Brainstorm ideas for collaborations and collabs
Manage a simple newsletter and LinkTree
Build and maintain a media list for PR and launch outreach

What We’re Looking For

Strong social media skills and hands-on experience creating content (personal or professional)
Passion for food, wine, restaurants, or culture (wine geek a plus!)
Independent, resourceful, and excited to contribute ideas
Keen to grow your portfolio and be part of an ambitious project from the ground up

What You’ll Get Out of It

The Deal
This is an internship-style role. Budget is very limited at the start, but there’s room to grow as the project develops. It’s a rare opportunity to build real-world experience, stretch your creative muscles, and be part of something exciting from day one.

To BA and Diploma students in the Department of Communication Studies: If you are considering a Summer internship, please know that under these exceptional circumstances you may work partly, or entirely, from home. This assumes, of course, that your onsite supervisor fully supports this arrangement. If you still have concerns or questions after you’ve read the Guidelines, please contact the Internships Co-ordinator.

May 2019: We are now allowing students to have the option of receiving compensation for their internships (more info above).

Sept 2016: Please note that, in order to maximize the value of the internships for everyone, we support a maximum of TWO student interns at any one company during any given semester.
