Description of Host Organization
The Indigenous Health Centre of Tiohtia:ke’s mission is to improve the health outcomes, quality of life and social determinants of health of Indigenous people in Montreal through a culturally competent, holistic health service delivery model that is accessible to all Indigenous people, within the urban setting of Montreal and surrounding areas where emphasis is placed on quality and continuity of care.
The Indigenous Health Centre of Tiohtià:ke (IHCT) is fairly young in providing health services with just over 2 years of physical operations. The IHCT is an innovative model, being the first Indigenous Health Centre in the Montreal area for urban Indigenous people. As such, our foundation is to center Indigenous cultural knowledge in everything we do.

Responsibilities
- Increase awareness of IHCT’s programs, services, and holistic model of care among Indigenous and non-indigenous populations, partners, and stakeholders (assist in updating Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and You Tube; create TikTok account and assist in maintaining posts)
- Strengthening IHCT’s credibility by articulating consistent, culturally grounded key messages aligned with community values and expectations (i.e. regular postings on social media, improving monthly newsletter format)
- Lead a “Voices of the Community Series”: Identify participants for testimonials; record client and staff stories regularly; publish weekly testimonial posts; collaborate with advocates to amplify these stories through shares and reposts.
Assets and Requirements
- Video-editing skills
- Strong grasp of social media
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of the Indigenous community
- Strong communication skills in English (and preferably in French as well)
