NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT
The work involves performing various communication tasks to provide operational and creative support to the Communications Department, particularly in content creation, visual production, and text revision. Compensation will offered based on educational background and the City’s current policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Content creation and revision: Participates in drafting, revising, and optimizing written content for various communication channels (website, social media, newsletters, printed publications, etc.);
- Visual production (photos and videos): Shoots photos and short videos, performs necessary editing and assembly to supply digital platforms and communication campaigns;
- Management and distribution: Collaborates in planning, monitoring the editorial calendar, and publishing content across different platforms;
- Performs any other related tasks associated with the activities and projects of the Communications Department.
REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY
Education, qualifications, and experience
Currently enrolled in an appropriate college or university program (Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field);
Experience (volunteering, school projects, or internship) in content creation, photography, or video editing is an asset.
Essential knowledge
- Proficiency in both official languages (French and English), spoken and written;
- Working knowledge of social media and visual/video creation software or tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.);
- General knowledge of the operation of a Web Content Management System (CMS – e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or equivalent)
Skills or abilities
- Creativity and a strong sense of initiative;
- Attention to detail;
- Effective communication and teamwork;
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
